The Maurice Zeffert Home is a pioneering facility in its drive and vision to provide not only excellent physical care but also in its desire to enrich the social, emotional and spiritual well being of all residents, their families and everyone involved in their care.
MZH is the first facility in the world to comprehensively implement the Spark of Life Cultural Enrichment Program and the first to join the Spark of Life International Best Practice Evaluation. This groundbreaking program grows a compassionate culture of love, appreciation, enthusiasm, and optimism that brings out the best in everyone.
The Home has a team of occupational therapists who design and facilitate leisure and recreation programs and, where necessary, assist residents overcome any barriers to participation. These programs incorporate laughter, creativity and self-expression, social opportunity and membership of a group. Individual Residents’ needs are assessed before particular activities are recommended. Activities include art classes, cooking, crafts, games, gardening, exercises, dance and music therapy.
